will be in geelong for a day while the wife visits her friend there early march.. Is there anywhere i can hire a board and go for a surf. i was looking at ocean grove on the net and it looks nice. cant find any board hire places. Not worth lugging a board from wa to melbourne for one day of potential surf so any info would be appreciated.

thanks

Name a time and date, and there will be people that are happy to come along to an impromptu "sameh event and demo day".

Sounds like you're planning on dumping the wife for a few hours.

Phil OG SUP is tha man for OG Supping! (Ocean Grove).

But if you really want to spend money, Strapper do some hire out of Torquay I think.

try strapper surf - they are the sup experts - there are 5 stores in the area - you will be able to demo/hire something

thanks for the info. Will be in geelong on march 20, hopefully with the daughters. Would love to take them and their boyfriends down th the beach. Since moving to melbourne both daughters really miss the beach and the heat. Sorry to sound like a tourist but is the water temperature ok for boardies.

thanks

Boardies, just warm enough if it's a nice day, standing on a SUP. If it's cold and windy, no, you want some rubber. Or if you are spending time in the drink, you'll also want rubber.

Stonker - Torquay?

Pack a 3/2 if you have the space (or 4/3 if it looks very bleak)...Vic weather is unpredictable.
