Hi guys. After a little advice. Im new to sup but have water sports experience and was hoping for some help with board size. I have been to a couple of shops and they recommend I could get away with 9"6 but prefered the 10". Im only 163cm and 51kg but I am hoping to take my kids out with me who are very young but wondered is a 10"6 too big. Should I just stick to a 9"6 fir now and get something bigger when the kids are older abd want to come out all the time. Want for flat water mainly cruising. Tia

If you want to paddle with kids on board with you a board like the Naish 10'10"x32" Nalu would be a good choice IMO.. any smaller will be tricky without going wider.. The Naish 9'8"x34" Odysseus and 10'x33" Mana should also work.

You might think about the various inflatables too. Good sup brands like Starboard, Naish, Red Paddle Co, Fanatic, JP Australia etc all have a range in various lengths. The 12'6 tourers are perfect for what you want and you don't have to worry about kids and hard edges, damaging the kids or the board on the beach. They're very light too. As an instructor, the kids loved jumping on the 9' Starboard Converse and the 10' Whopper And I loved that I could throw it in the back of the van with one hand and leave it inflated between paddles.
