Hi all
I will be in Melbourne this week
And my wife is now happy to join me on the sup
We were looking at hiring some boards
I know that the zu has a good mix of boards but doesnt open until 10
I would be happy to dw but the wife not so keen
What time does the wind usually pick up on the bay and is it enough to bother about or should we hire from some of the early openers

Today is Thursday.. When you say this week do you mean today and tomorrow or next week.. or the w/e?

10am is usually fine for avoiding the Seabreeze that often picks up in the late morning.. The good thing about St Kilda marina is that it's pretty sheltered from most winds..

I can't see any downwind conditions happening in the next few days but you never know..

Will you be here for the big sup event at St Kilda on Australia Day (Tue 26th).. ?

Thanks DJ
we are looking at paddling on sunday but I may sneak off for a paddle myself on the Monday
Unfortunately we head back to Sydney early Tuesday so we will miss the Australia Day paddle but it looks like a great event
I have been following this sight for the last 18 months since I bought my first sup and read it every day (I have learnt lots and had a few laughs along the way)
and I am sure that I speak on behalf of many many people when I say thank you for all the time you put into the sport and this sight
(like today when you quickly answered a question seeking advice) I look forward to continuing following the sight and I still laugh at your video from a couple of months ago when you took delivery of your new board and the loving looks you gave it on the roof and then on the grass before hitting the water

Sunday and Monday wind forecasts are for southerly and light at least until midday when it might start to pick up a bit. If you are hiring from The ZU or StKilda SUPB, then the pier and marina shield you pretty well from any winds from the south or south west.

Hey Dutchie,

drop into KR Sup Centre ( St Kilda Sea Baths ) and I can line you up with a couple of decent boards.

I am there for 9.30am. Light breeze with a few bumps off the end of the break wall and flat inside ad DJ mentioned.
