Are you using iMovie on a Mac ?

If so, you can crop the footage - not sure about other programs though.

Can be done mate but it will pixelate to the point of unwatchable .... much better to do it with the camera lens zoomed in as much as possible.

Buy a Mac but as Mick said if it's shot through a wide angle like a go-pro or similar action cam it will fall apart when you crop it.

iMovie on mac and GoPro is all you need.
iMovie is so easy to learn - self taught that is.

^^^^About 18 months ago I changed over to Mac - Mac mini, iPad,iPhone 4s,iCloud. If it starts with 'i', I've got it. I would never go back to PC again.

I have a Mac, but prefer to use Final Cut Express, or Final Cut Pro. You have a lot more control over what you are doing. You do have to buy them however. For a PC, the equivalent programs are Premier Pro or Premier Elements.
FC express and Premier Elements are the cheeper versions.
They are pretty much the same programs.
Imovie will give good results, but I prefer Final Cut heeps more.
