hi, just wondering what waterproof phone cases everyone is using , would like to be able to take it with me when i am doing some solo paddles for safety and maybe a few pic here and there, have been looking at maybe a life proof or the like but wondering if anyone has any good or bad feed back about any of the brands, just has to be usable and most of importantly properly waterproof

thanks for the help

I have a lifeproof case for my Samsung S6 but that is for just in case. I don,t take em to the water. I drowned too many smartphones before.
For on the water I rather use an very old cheap Nokia with a pre-paid card and a few pre-programmed numbers that can call in an aquapack and won,t cost me a paddle+ if the aquapack leaks. A big bonus of the oldies is that they do have a battery life!

I used a Lifeproof on my old iPhone5 without incident. Downwinders, whitewater rapids, everything. When I swapped over to the iPhone6 Plus I didn't get a new Lifeproof case as I'd read an independent test that was not kind to the case for the biggest screens. They were apparently working on them to improve them but don't know how that ended up.

I use a DryDock case, picked it up on holidays in Thailand for about A$20. They claim they are good to 10m. I;ve taken it down to 5 or 6 meters snorkling plenty of times and never had a problem. I also got the DryDock headphones for about A$10 and they are supposed to be good to 3m, have only ever used them for swimming and shallow duckdiving. I;m very happy with both.

Guys in Maui had the Optrix case for their iPhone 6, about $120 US on Amazon I think.

I just got a Catalyst case based on this review: www.mobilereviews-eh.ca/catalyst-waterproof-review-iphone-66-plus/

I liked it because it has a wrist lanyard which makes making an SOS call out to sea safer as removes the risk of dropping your phone in the drink as then your ****ed!

Dog&Bone for me too.
Tried and tested, fully immersed a few times now and perfectly dry. Good thing is the newer version is slimmer.
