I stopped buying tracks years ago, the full page ads to usefull content ratio went off the planet, now it's more like a sales catalogue with some prosurfing worship mixed in, jeeeze even ads for man makeup wtf.
totally, tracks is the worst offender, atleast the others have the excuse of being fluff from the beginning, tracks degenerated to fluff, beginning with the end(?) of the newspaper format. now its like a surfing cosmo or cleo.
every so often, like if i'm forced along to a shopping mall because i've been taken by surprise and can't think of an excuse to get out of it or all the exits are blocked and i cannot run away... i'll make whingy noises the whole time and be allowed to go wait at the newsagents whereupon i'll sit on the floor and read all the surf mags 'till i'm kicked out or 'its' finished her roaming. i'll always leave with a smile thinking i'm not missing out on anything and really how out of touch they are in corporate surf world, but mostly, how much of a flipping rip off surf magazines have become...
always makes me laugh, you get a 'free' dvd with a mag, but the cover price goes up two bucks compared to when the same mag has no 'free' dvd atttached..
