Hi guys
For all those riding sups in WA, I am thinking of organising an SUP day as a social event.
My idea would be to get everyone interested to get together for an informal fun day rather than serious compettion along the following lines.
A sunday morning gathering leading into a bbq lunch at eg Mandurah Foreshore.
This would allow famlies to attend, instead of ignoring the family make it a day out. The mandurah foreshore would allow for a few short distance paddles up the river from bridge to bridge for some informal race and or/ from river to the ocean return runs. We can throw in some spot prizes for attendence.
If the swell is up on the day it is not to far to head for a wave after lunch.
It is aslo a great place to be visible and pass on the stoke to the onlookers.
It would obviously be weather dependant but the foreshore area can get quite sheltered regardless of wind direction, and as long as it is not raining could provide a fun day for everyone with families that would not normally attend events.
I am thinking late October early November.
So what do you think? If anyone has any interest in the idea or some more ideas get in touch with me with a pm thru seabreeze or the email below.
Cheers
Paul
