Because it a lot of fun, the same reason why you kite! But you don't have to do it!

Remember the first time you caught a wave "standing" on your surfboard and that chill went down your spine because your were walking on water. Waves or no waves, the magic is slways there. Paddle...smile...surf!

Well said SUP Hawaii.

Almost every week I get a new best ever session but 2 days ago will be hard to beat.

The other day my usual best ever late afternoon super clean and glassy over head session with just a bit of red algal scum on the water turned in to a full on light show once the sun went down and the full moon came up.

The dirty red algae turned out to full of phospherecence that caused the ocean to light up any time the water got broken. Every paddle stroke, any spray off the board and any time a wave broke the water lit up like a camera flash. Paddling out you got the effect seeing waves break in front of you was pretty cool. This along with the full moon, 2 other guys on the water, and near perfect surf made it really tough to come in.

Hoped for a repeat session yesterday and just got the good surf and no crowds once the sun went down. Not going to bitch too much.

Sam.
