mikeman and myself did a narrow neck to tally ck today. i had never done that direction before. i thought it looked hard and i wasn't wrong.the swell head some east in it and when we paddled out or cut back out the swells were overhead and lots of em and i seemed to be looking up at them, i had never been in anything like this. you feel very small.i fell off heaps and swapping boards was very difficult. i was lucky to have mike there, he is very experienced and he said it was a pretty technical run . the board went really well for me. mike said it got runners easily and stayed on them longer with less strokes.towards burleigh we were pretty much paddling side ways to the swell and i came off at the shark nets trying to avoid them. didn't take me long to get back on. anyway, i've got a few things to work on for next time. mike could probably say more about the board. i'm keen to get better at doing d/wand the only way is to do plenty of them. having some one with you who is good and to learn from is a must i reckon
cheers
I was wondering how it would have been out there. The Kiteboarders looked like it was on for them.
I had a paddle in your breakwall 'fun park' yest morning on the run out just after high tide and had an absolute ball. On shore, super bumpy with wind on it and tide running back through it but all the way from big rock to the creek car park with the escalator taking you back out..... Most fun I have had in ages.
Working on getting a DW board this week so I will PM you to perhaps hook up for a creek challenge or even better a DW. Great post, makes me realise that the best things in life usually need a lot of work to achieve. I can't wait.
