Sincere condolences to the family and friends of the surfer who died.

It was pretty small today and I vacillated about donning my Gath. I decided to wear it as all the times I have been hit in the head I was never planning it.

I normally wear it when its big ir crowded, but my head impacts - four or five over 35 years of surfing - have occurred in four foot or less waves.

Perhaps something we ahould all think about.

Very very sad for his family.
