I ride a 9'6 Mac Fireball, its my first longboard so not sure if its total performance, but I rate it.

Have ridden a couple of mates other longboards and feel the fireball is the best at handling about every type of surf I have encountered. Beach and Reef.

Over head steep take off's, sharp turns (as sharp as can be expected), rail to rail turns. Have had some reasonably late take-offs and felt good. Have hit the lip and also had floaters (actually quite scary when Im falling with that size board under me!!)

Its also really fun for traditional fat wave surfing, only my skill and the type of wave stops me from hanging ten, can get to the nose easy enough. Good all rounder I reckon.

There is a new fireball coming - dont know all the facts yet other than the nose will be a bit more pulled in and possible square tail or similar. My personal opinion is that they should go back to the pre-evolution rocker (a bit flatter) pull in the nose quite a bit and add a squash tail and you would have an allround board that would kick ass in all conditions.

As for a performance 9'6 I would seriously look at a custom Laguna Bay Taylor Jensen model or if its serious high performance a Laguna Bay MSJ Super.

No worries Asea good to hear you have one as well. Let us know how you go on the bigger stuff, I think the biggest I have had it in was head and a half and it was a blast once I mastered the drop, really flies along the face as well.

Yeah same here, gonna take out the side fins and have a crack on the smaller stuff at a beachie just outta town. If had 4x4 could get to a spot it might push occasional head high but not looking promising, considering we just about sunk my mates 4x4 last time

The beach we drive on is a bloody nightmare in winter so will have to bide my time trimming and swooping on the single fin. A jekyll and hyde board the F/ball. I think my next will be a triple stringer custom 9'1 F/ball though.
