Is it actually possible to have a quiet surf on the East coast? You know, like a couple of other people out or even just yourself.

I see the surf report on telly and it looks like a packed house at the MCG. You take off and you've got ten other blokes all battling for the same wave. That's not my idea of having fun at all.

I'm not a peoples person, actually come to think of it, I hate people they piss me off. I get into the water to get away from all that. Just me and the ocean.

I took up kiting(which I love) to supress my surfing desires. But something just keeps drawing me back to surfing. Must be in my blood I think, my old man was a surfer.

My close surfing buddies like MR and Brad know this and they know why I like to sit a bit a ways from them so that I don't have to continually pretend that I know what they're saying.

There sure is,last week a couple of us breezers surfed the MCG then drove 5 mins north and there it was your own little wonderland.

To true mac. Asea and I scored lovely waves by ourselves last week. Heaps of good banks around if you look for them with no crew. Brody has some really nice banks atm. And with the wind starting to go north it will be firingno secrets just get on my treadly and scope them out

loads of opportunity for uncrowded waves....probably right under your eyes as well in locations you would least expect it......I have even surfed them on the Goldie (thanks to asea and Chrispy)........

Midweek winter and outside school holidays will get you them most of the time.....the short days stop a lot of the early crew from getting out for a wave and the after work crew can not get there....a cold wind normally stops a few others as well. Cold water locations are definitely yr friend if you hate crowds.

There are lots of places that are relatively uncrowded most of the time as well...for obvious reasons I will not name my fav ones here but once you get out of the heavily populated centres crowds drop big time. Places with lots of options are also good locations to scout. You need to put the time in to find what you are seeking but the rewards are well worth it. I surfed with 4 others blokes this morning for an hour in some of the most perfect waves I have ever seen. A few of my mates reckon I went to the wrong place - they also scored uncrowded perfection and were only a 15 mins drive away Once you get the hang of what spots work in what conditions you will soon realise when its time to down tools and head there. I have fav spots that I will drive 2.5hrs for just to get a good session in - because its worth it. My justification is that 10 day trips a year like that and if I get 5 or 6 of them right its worth it - way cheaper than a trip to the Ments!!!!

There's a lovely spot just south of Crescent that requires a bit more commitment to get too. It's not really a secret spot, but every so often some Breezers get together there for a few waves.
