Found myself waking up in my old home town this morning.

It was heaving for some strange reason

Decided to grab a coffee with Julian looking down on me

Lots of girls hitting the water

They surfed pretty good to

Birds of all kinds

And sometimes blokes as well

But mainly it was chicks and lots of them as it round 4 hitting the water first thing. A shame that the waves were so crap. They should put this comp on in Mar or April. I really felt sorry for them as the surf was absolutely crap - weak as and hardly any coming through. It was a real lottery.

Nice pics Ted.
You've come a long way from those 1MP photos from that circa 98 Nokia.

Yeah it was a nice morning. Shame I could only hang out for the first 2 heats before heading off for a meeting. Better than nothing. Although to be honest listening to the endless dribble coming from Reg Ellis and his cohort with hardly a wave coming through was almost enough to destroy me. Its like they feel they have to be talking constantly the whole time. Not the serenity you really want. My poor mates places - its far to close to the contest zone and you can not escape it all day long!

The chicks did well in the less than ideal conditions. I really felt for them - their livelihood on the line in such flukey conditions. The joys of being a pro.

I got into Manly just after 5pm on Thurs so the skate bowl was closed and they would not let me to take any shots. Its only open from midday to 5pm.

Here are a couple of shots from Muz at Sprout Daily. The Steyne was a fun place for a beer last night with a mini half pipe in the beer garden.
