Good point obct,I've surfed the same spot for years now and a guy came into my shop a couple of weeks ago claiming to one of my staff that he knows me,when the staff member mentioned this to me,I looked at this guy and thought, hmm his face looks familiar

When I got talking to him he said he sees me out in the water often

He then told me that some of the locals have asked about that guy on the longboard who doesn't talk much and why

Why because I am, well shy maybe and I am just sucking in the ambiance and generally chilling and enjoying some timeout.
A few weeks ago the surf was perfect around my limit in height and I was loving it and catching plenty until this guy paddles out and starts chatting about life, for the next 40 minutes my wave count was like 3

with a time frame this really ate into my surfing time and as we all know time is super important.
This Saturday at the same spot all was good until three Americans paddled out and sat right beside me.They were talking all this crap about have you read this book by bla bla bla! They were nice enough guy's but I really didn't go for a surf to hear about there uni stuff.I paddled in a short time later, all their chat just upset my frame of mind. mac
