Any ideas..

Has to be freestanding, no holes in the wall. I rent.
Hold 4 boards vertically. I have high ceilings.
It is also between 2 walls about 1500mm apart


My simple idea is to get a piece of timber just narrower than the gap and screw two bolts into the ends of the timber with feet on the bolt head end, then just wind the bolts out till the are tight against the walls.

I would just put dowels in it to hold the boards. So will it stuff my walls?

Yeah it would be wedged between the walls, the bolts are so I can adjust it so it fits snug. Good idea with the carpet.

but wondered if the other idea would work, might try it anyway, I have a scrap bit of timber and some bolts around here somewhere.


It would pretty much be the cross brace on the above racks that holds the boards with bolts in the end that I can screw out against the wall either side.

Will it lean against the wall then? You would want to make sure you brace it I imagine. You could put some old foam or carpet on the edges that touch or potentially touch the wall.

Doggie posted a pic once of his storage solution - he lies his boards on the ground - one on top of the other with foam blocks separating them. With your boards this may not work as you would need a really long room! Also I think it would be a hassle getting them out - but probably something that can be overcome.

I have the free standing rack that holds three boards horizontally. I had it made for three logs but it could be made for four.

Lacey not sure if you read my fin post yesterday but spoke with a little man from nsw's and he explained the redline v hatch fin,hence the redline is now in place.
