After two weeks of total crap surf conditions, I'm about to hit the road to surf one foot wind effected rubbish. Heading to Bali on the 16th so I need to keep active. I just cant stand it anymore, anything happening in your neck of the woods

it's getting better but it's not great.

I'm still going out no matter what if only for a bit of exercise, it must be working, I'm under 100 for the first time in years.

Its a good feeling going under 100 marker, I did it over a year ago,it makes a huge difference in everything I do

Well just lobed home, it was around the one to two wind effected crap but it was way better than sitting around going crazy.

Yep, the surface conditions are just abysmal, if it would clean up there's some good swell hidden underneath.

I went in at Collaroy, for a while there was only 2 of us out it was so bad.

Double whammy for me because I only ride tuflites, the chop throws me around a bit.

I was out of town this weekend for the kite chicks event so I didn't see it but it usually keeps pretty clean, North Curl Curl is usually ok early as well.

Got wet in front of the lagoon on Saturday arvo and it's my first choice on most weekends but I always get there too late.

Every weekend I have these Sat & Sun morning commitments with the Misses, on a Sat morning it's to walk the dog along the beach at Curly and the surf is always heaps better than when I get to go from around 3 onwards.

Sun morning it's the grocery shopping before she starts work so the earliest I can get in the water is about 11am and by then it's often buggered.

About the only good thing is that there's less people around.

I guess I could try to swap the walk times but after more than 35 years of marriage, there's usually not a lot of fight left in a bloke.

Just looked a few few surf cams from goldy all the way down to Sydney, it still looks woeful.

And the weekends not looking too clever either.

nothing this morning I had to go to work but yesterday I took the car to work because I wanted to bring home a BBQ trolley I made (got a weber Q on Sunday). So I made sure I put the board on and went for a late arvo at Longy.

It was sad, really sad, for a time I was actually the only one in the water as far south and north as I could see.

I enjoyed it, when I do that I feel like a kid wagging school.

Haha - I should have been finished the course 6 months ago - procrastination sucks - has to be finish by Sunday.

Nothing wrong with being the only one in the water octb wish it was that way when I surf queenscliff.

You'll love the Weber Q I've got the Baby and it rocks most even cooking temps going IMO - my BBQ stand is two chairs facing each other.

I didn't realize kids go to school around here - seems there always on vacation!

I don’t think this is too far off topic because what better to do if there’s no surf that to have a BBQ so I’ll tell you about the weber.

I don't know why but I may be the only bloke in the world who hates BBQs at home.

Out in the bush or on the beach, not a problem, luv’em, but at home I just can't stand them.

The family love them, I just hate it when missus starts up with that whining voice, "well why can't we BBQ tonight" and it's not about the cooking because I do most of that in our place and I always have.

I think I just hate dragging that big ugly useless hunk of crap out from the side of the house, scrapping off a few layers of potential botulism and rust, for a very sort period of enjoyment before I have to start with the hour of cleaning and hauling the sorry thing back around the side of the house.

So after doing a lot of reading, I went out on Sunday and forked out the big bucks for a weber Q, hell they’re good. And it's not just the way they can do the steaks and spuds to perfection, they are incredibly easy to clean and store.

I used to always buy those dirty big 4 burner things and I can honestly say that there has only ever been 1 occasion when I needed something that big in the last 20 years. I can store this weber just anywhere, I've got the Q220 but I reckon I could have almost got away with the Baby Q for just me and the wife. The baby Q would have been great for buggy trips.

It's a weird way to cook, if you enjoy standing in front of the steaks with a beer you can forget about it because everything has to be done with the lid down but hell the meat stays nice and juicy.

I don't think I'll ever really enjoys BBQs at home but at least this may ease the pain a bit

The bbq to me is one of those things in life, the bigger the better just like tv's.
Hell I dont hit the pubs or shops and drive an expense car, so I have a big arse tv (love my sport ) and big arse bbq, i have five mouths to feed and most of the time there is a ring in or two,so I needed to go big (thats what I told the wife )
Good tv, good bbq, like the old sunnyboy's song title, happy man

As for the webber q, my mate has one and they sure do cook an awesome roast.

Anyway just logged onto coastalwatch and its glassy one foot at my local so I'm going for a paddle.

get out there boy's

Yep, I just got back from longy, about that size but definitely missing the glassy bit.

Can't believe I had it all to myself again and it was a top little play wave, although I had to paddle like all the bejeezus to get on, then just wait a couple of secs for a lazy bottom turn, a baby reentry then a bit of a glide before it formed up into a real nice frantic little wall at the beach.

I didn't want to leave it but I was just too buggered because I've got a cold.

God I love the volume in this board, some time soon I'm going to have to get back on that smaller tolhurst but I'm not looking forward to it.

Hey that's great obct, I had a 2 hour session and as the tide dropped it started to pick up around two foot + on the bigger sets, tomorrow will be a tab bigger ( I hope )
Jackson Close was out on his SUP mctavish.

One thing everyone noticed was how bloody cold the water was for this time of year.
Call it global warming,it was like an iceberg had melted.

I'm employing my no swell time as usefully as I can, I made a cross stepping trainer.

I'm desperate to stop shuffling and at my age this is probably my last chance.

If it fails I'll go back to drinking and glassing before I finally commit suicide

It may be what I have to do, I tried like all buggery yesterday arvo and today but still my feet refuse to leave that deck.

I do think I'm trying to do steps that are too large but that's because I just naturally take a very wide stance.

On the plus side, the swells picking up around here, surface conditions are still mega poopy.
