MP was probably just having a bender of a day in the shaping bay !!
They say MP could shape a board in 15 minutes. From Blank, to "ready for glassing" in 15 minutes! That's probably faster than current shaping machines! But MP was a Human Shaping Machine !
They also say they were as rough as bags.
A bloke I used to work with was hired to 'shape' his shapes after shaping and before glassing so to speak....
The same bloke told me a great story about a board MP left with him in Bali to bring home for him. He said it was OK to ride but for some reason felt a little heavy and dead in the water. After years of thinking about it and the MP book he thinks he knows why.... It may or may not have been filled with something.
He was a mate of MP and said he never really knew much about him, mentioned in the book and everything.
