I myself wouldn't mind a Blue Bird.....

You are obviously a McT fan - and yes they do some very nice little boards as well. I would however strongly suggest that you try a scooter before committing to an egg. A scooter in the same size will be immensely easier and quicker to paddle in and is I believe a much quicker board all round. The scooter is amazing ridden as a single and if you get a custom it is worth thinking about a quad plus box option because it is a very capable little board and also rox as a quad in more serious surf. Dont get me wrong - the egg is a super board, but very limited in my opinion.

Looks sweet Mac - looks a bit similar to the redline I liked (just shorter)

Did you pick up his book with the board? Reading it now - he can spin a yarn as well as he shapes a board.

I have a Redline 9.6 x 23 1/4 x 3 1/4 totally different boards, the outlines are sort of similar.

Finished the book a few weeks ago, great read and as you said good yarns.

I had an egg a few years ago 7'x21x3, it was my travel board, I traved to qld a lot for work and found this such a versatile board. I ran it mainly as a thruster with M7 or sunny fins.

I sold it to a girlfriend of my wifes, I wish i hadn't it was a great board, turned like a shortnboard and noserides as good as any performance 9fter. surfed well in anything up to 6ft
