Hi, We are getting a house built and moving to Halls Head. Does anyone know if there any clubs in the local area so we can go surfing and meet new friends. I have been surfing for 35 years and ride short boards, Longboards and Standup Paddleboard. Do many people surf around the local area?

Some nice longboard waves around there and unfortunately you will not have any trouble finding other surfers.

Thanks for that, did'nt see much to surf there when we bought our land and thought I might have to by a Windsurfer instead. There's hope yet!

There's a sometime break just near you, Hunchies. It needs a bigger swell usually during winter. Further south a couple of k's are more spots suited to mals and a few suited to shortboards.

I um and ahh about posting details but the whole surfing population of Perth knows about the spots in Mandurah. The good thing is that it is still possible to get a quiet surf in good conditions especially in winter. In a lot of cases, the guys hell bent on big Margaret River/Yallingup waves bypass Mandurah completely.
Don't get too excited because the local surfers know the best conditions and are more often than not all over it when the waves are firing.

Explore, have fun, its a great place.
