Scotty those where the days mate all gone to the ****ter as far as I'm concerned, sure we have great waves and all the good things that come with that but zap me back in time please.
Late 70's to mid 90's,everyone who lived here was a surfer or surf bum and had chicks,we drank beer at open beer gardens unlike the crap served up today,we all drove old wagons which doubled up as a bedroom for all those mad mad parties we went too,we had a few clubs and all played LIVE music the Playroom where I met my wife had one dollar Sunday nights with bands like inxis oils and all the big up and coming Australian bands.
Oh don't worry Lacey was at all these pits, life was grand oh I did see the Oils at the old Grand before they screwed it up.
Zap me to Northern NSW's
Yep gotta agree. I'm in a bit younger bracket to you guys but the 80's and early to mid 90's were the high point of the Goldy being what it was. The Room, The Patch, Hill St, The Party, Fishos, echo beach, beer garden. Come as you are (boardies and singlet) Sundays in surfers after Fishos. And my mint original HT Kingy!
Now what is it? War zone or Ice freaks robbing joints, over crowded waves. I still love my home but the innoncence is long gone.
