Hello
My name is Tomas and 20 years old, I studdy in aus for 18 months. So i tookt a surf lesson for about 3 weeks ago, and i loved it!.
It would appreciate if i got some advices before i buy a board.
I have surfed about 4 times , eatch time atleast 3hours ( with rent boards )
Iam 6'9. and weight 74kg , thought about a minimal but not sure about size yeat, i have tryed out 7.6 works pretty well.
Should i buy a new one ? or should i go for a 2 hand ?
And whats a good price on a new ?, is there any "must" buy for a beginner surfer ? i lookt in a store downtown its all from 600+ ( new ones , minimals )
And 2h about 450-500 ,

Hi Thomas, is that height correct, 6 foot inches 9 inches or just over 2 metres tall?
If it's right, then you may be happier if you look at something 8ft or over. One of the big names will cost you a lot and if you're only in the country for a short time, you'll never get your investment back in terms of time on the board or resale value.
When I wanted a new board I found a big surf shop down on the beach that would rent me the board I liked. I took it across the road, had a surf, really like it and bought it the next week. The even took off the $25 rental charged from the previous week.
Is this an option in your area?

Just under 6' tall, that's more like it, you've got a lot more options.
My board was new but they had the identical model as a rental.
