Pretty sad day in Adelaide.

To be killed by your own son is pretty savage.

Yeah I don't think that game will go ahead.

All the players would be in shock today as he coached the Crows and the Power.

We don't have the full info yet... Chances are the son was either loopy, or on ice... Or even whether Phil was an A-hole towards his son...

RIP though.

All of us in the office said he was probably on ice....

Looks like he was stabbed to death. Feel bad for the wife who would have watched it all go down.

Hopefully we hear more as the day goes on.

AFL House will no doubt meet to discuss what to do... Get the rule book out... Crows could forfeite which gives Cats 4 points... Or can they negotiate 2 points each... Or they decide to play.... ??? Bizarre! ...
RIP

I think we will know more within 1 or 2 hours... The media will likely report whether the son had prior mental issues or not.... That will flush out quickly...

Poor bloke... RIP... You feel for the whole family...

When you read between the lines a bit, it looks like Phil had a passion and obsession with Footy... Loved it. For him, it probably didn't feel like work...

You could speculate that the son just wanted to have fun living life... You can speculate that Phil could have been tough on his son... It was mentioned that there was a disconnect there... I read Phil goes to bed at like 8:30pm, and gets up anywhere between 2 and 5, jumps into his work... Speculation is that his son arrived home half drunk at 2am this morning... as you do... (Who knows, I don't!)...

2 men in the same house, leading different life styles... ... ??? ... I can at least fathom how an argument might start... But I can't fathom why you would reach for a knife!... Unless he felt very threatened... !!??... Who knows...

Best off not to speculate... Oops, I just did!

Sad news... RIP.

Thanks for the laugh mate You know I gave up watching the news about three years ago when I started psych nursing seeing all the tragedy daily at work then turning on the news and only finding the high profile sportspeople covered and their stories and how the public seems so shocked by it all. Also our kids getting exposed to all the violence and asking questions that 7 and 9 year olds shouldnt be worrying about.

I just realised that the Sunday game is cancelled... Crows v Cats... 2 points each is a fair result...

The unfair result is Phil & Cy... Father and Son...
