In light of the great thread that Mr Goddard is running on the new board and the craftsmanship and skill that goes into shaping a new board for us...thought this article was relevant and interesting.
Unfortunately it seems to be a challenge faced by all types of industries whether you are a tinned beetroot or peanut butter producer (like Dick Smith for those that missed the reference..


).
Moral of the story seems to be - keep going for the cheap non-local product and one day (maybe not tomorrow but one day) you may not be able to source a new board (or beetroot) locally.
