With all this crap weather lately, there hasnt been much on offer to surf. So gets to the point today with just a 666 out and nice 3 footers peeling off the point. I'm watching and just about to get ready to go out....untill.

There was a fair bit of weed in the water so as I am watching the 666, you could see two objects that appeared to be floating in the water next to him which I initially thought was weed untill the rear one started swishing back and forward.

Next thing he paddles like fury and catchs a pissing little wave into shore.

I went and spoke to him and he says its a bull shark (I'll have to catch up on my shark identification) about 3 metres long. Said he paddled away from it a couple of times and it kept coming back and hanging around and looking at him (his words).

So we have a perfect 3' right hand point break going unridden today.

If that was me out there, there's no way those sharks would've stayed in the area

Unles of course, they enjoyed swimming around in an ocean of my s!hit

If he's right about it being a bull shark, I wouldn't have gone in either.
Thats the breed, that hit the navy diver in Sydney Harbour and a couple of other attacks in the last couple of years. Aggressive buggers.
Shame about missing some waves. Has been crap for a long time, unless you can take the one day per month that it works.

My son stopped wakeboarding in the Nerang river for the same reason.
