Yesterday was two foot max and decided to give the single fin log a run.I haven't ridden this board for around a year and boy it was fun just trimming down the line.
I bumped into some crazy Koreans, four guys and three smoking hot chicks. The guys all single fin loggers who are over here for a year, last year they spent it in the states.
They make their own boards, one is a shaper and other does the tint/glassing. Wow what awesome boards and they sure can ride old school. Bloody living the dream.

I have not seen some many smiles and hooting going on for ages. Had a good old chat and catching up next week.

ps.dont know why I posted it,just talking story I guess.

I'm a convert back to singles, I don't think I'll ever go back to using my side fins again, at least on the big board.

I'd jump at the chance to have a go on an old pig board with a D fin.

Is the 9'6" your redline?

Love surfing with guys that log, so much more mellow in the surf than anyone else

Sure is crazy, it went well in slow small fat stuff but I was talking to this yank who was riding a single 10 footer and he made it look oh so easy.If I do go bigger I will probably flick the sup.

I wouldn't mind adding a big log to the quiver a 10er or even an 11er would be great....

Totally agree, I'm a single fin addict!!!!! the last one I made is 9'7" & wide!!!
But saying that I've just made a twin fin out of a sup that I never use, never really got into sup. The twinny is just an experiment 9' but singles have been my only boards for some time

After all........this twin is just 2 singles......

I rode a 10' in Hawaii - thought it was too big I like the feel of the 9'6" lay-out thinking 9'8" when I get a log and bumping the everyday mal up to 9'5"

Same here Crazy, I had 10 foot mc for a Noosa trip and hated it,same in Hawaii hired one and it was the same so I went down to a under volume in the pink 9.1. Man it was a struggle.Next time I will diffidently take my own board.I have a plan to celebrate my 50th in Hawaii but will go September 2011. Lets see how things pan out.

There was a guy out at Longy on Sunday morning on a big single taking every wave because he had a real good paddler. Judging from the logo underneath it looked to be a Pearson Arrow in Tuflite and I can only assume it’s the 10’ CJ jobby.

The guy didn’t look much lighter than me but he sat a lot further out of the water, that’s the bit I can’t understand.

Because it’s a board I’ve been interested in for a long time, I know the volume is listed at about 77cc whereas mine is 100cc, that’s why I got it, so I would float better and get on more waves, but this guy was creaming me.

I know why they have less volume, it’s because they are thinner through the length than mine is, regardless of the fact that they are 24” wide while I’m 23.25”.

What am I missing? Is this dude a lot lighter than he looks or does the additional ¾ of an inch in the width make all the difference?

Mate 3/4 of an inch in width is a massive deference in volume.

I had my redline made 9.6 x 23 1/4 x 3 for easy paddling.

Saw they do it in a pinner now - like the look of the square better, it's slightly pulled as well (about a 1/4" I think) if I remember correctly.

Single fin logging on my 10ft tripple stringer around Gero is ideal for those small beachies that we have plenty of. I love getting up the front on little right handers and grabbing the rail pig dogging all the way to the beach

remember mac likes red for fast and dangerous. don't cross him in the line up because next time mouthguards will be required. just a warning.

Mate I have not really looked into it however my FB is a couple of years old and they have made some changes since mine, I am due for an update FB so I didnt want to buy the current model knowing a new one is just around the corner.
They are pulling in the nose, slight change in the tail ( not 100%) and the rocker is different to my old FB.

The board is not due for release just before summer ,so I think its a secert atm
