Had an awesome double session at Secret Harbour yesterday. But the second time down there i had to get out after an hour as i couldn't take the stingers anymore, my legs where almost covered. Am i alone or is anyone else getting flogged out from them aswell.

A friend reported getting stung at Yanchep yesterday - and another said she won't go in at the moment without a long arm rassie 'cause they are so bad...

Noticed a lack of surfers on the weekend - but I put that down to miserable swell and banks!

Tried to go for a swim in the evening with the Wife and kids last night aswell, lasted about 2 mins in the water. I've never seen it this bad.

Got out at SH yesterday arvo as well with a mate.

He picked up a stinger, thought he'd be a funny bastard and throw it at me. 10 mins later he forgot all about handling the jellyfish and rubbed his face.

Instant Karma :)

A mate of mine has been getting stung heaps recently, I havnt and I think it's because I always wear a long arm rashie & a shortjon. I think it's the laninia currents. I've never seen it this bad.

Keep some vinegar in the car, it's also useful when you have fish & chips

Yeh they are pretty bad down this way at the moment. Saying that I surfed Monday avo for about an hour and a half in just boardies with no issues. It wasn't till after 6 I started getting flogged and toughed it out till about 7ish.

I remember this happening a few years ago with the little purple bastards everywhere. They were actually carried down by the leeuwin current. That year the current came unusually close to the coast.

They do come down after a bit of a northerly blow and i suspect with the little bit of north in the swell as well this has been helping also.
