Anstey beach before the developers moved in and called it a Secret Harbour, The first time they put a road through I went home because i thought the crowd was to big had stuffed it, would have been a 1/4 of the crew and no boggers

Not that the beach is all that secret anyhow, but it's pretty hectic as it is and to have a cam that all the metro guys can spot on before they decide to make the trudge down our way won't make it any better.

Don't get me wrong I'll be smashing the live feed once it's online, but I've been doing fine without it and have no dramas continuing without it.

I can see it meaning the end of those sneaky crowdless slots in the day.

I really don't see it being online too often, considering that it's already been smashed.

Hey Doggie if your have been north of Lano imagane a suburb going in and 80,000 people liven close. Rocko would have had less than 20,000.

Had to drive down a dirt track and park behind these mounds they use to call sand dunes if no 4x4 (similar to back beach)

The beach you needed a run up in a 4x4 to get across the flat before you got to the dune . There was always a gutter that you could not stand in and a reform on the inside. It still closed out but when it had shape it was better, and the bonus no red and yellow.

I've lived next door in Golden Bay for 20 years. Back then the waves at "Surf Beach" ( it's true surfbreak name )were heaps better shape and broke a lot further out, you could drive on the beach & park right in front of the peak. ( yes there were peaks! ) In fact there were some classic days back then that were about as good as a beach break can get , 80-100 metre rides from perfect A-Frame peaks.

It WAS a semi secret spot... Then they started to develop Secret Harbour and we watched as the bulldozers flattened the huge dunes right down to the beach level ( quite illegal & they were fined some puny sum which they made back by tenfold on the first few blocks with ocean views). It's never been the same since... just one big closeout ( except once or twice a year after a winter storm ) :(

Go to a secluded beach-break down south or up to the Lancelin area ( not naming names) & thats whats it used to be like.

But hey that's progress for you!

Yes welcome

Isn't that the same scenario that unfolded at Cape St Francis ?

When endless summer 1 was made it was considered the worlds most perfect wave.

By the time they made ES2 it was rooted because there was a housing estate all around it which stopped the sand filling the areas between the rocks which in turn made the wave inconsistent.

Our species is really good at buggering things up eh?
