Over new years I'll be heading over to a mates beach house near Safety Beach and I was just wondering if its a surf point?
As if you can't tell I'm a total newbie at this :P

Hi mate, safety beach is in port phillip bay, you wont get any decent surf in the bay. Your better off driving another 20 mins or so down to Gunnamatta or St. Andrews, or Rye Ocean beach. Alternatively make the drive to Phillip Island, but from safety beach it's a fair drive, would imagine it will take you nearly 2 hours.

Just as long as there are 2ft swells I'll be fine, I've just started out so I'm not really ready for the big stuff just yet.

If your only after small swell, try Pt. Leo and Shoram as well... they can be good...
