Saw a big seal in the line-up today. I was surfing Rincon, at high tide, so it wasn't quite breaking through the proper Bells Bowl today due to a High, High Tide. So I'm paddling through the bowl area, and I saw something fat ducking back into the water at The Bowl. I was closest to it, and I was pretty sure it was a seal... But I bailed towards shore and paddled back out on the inside of two other blokes to improve my general statistics!

I asked a few crew, "did you see that?".
Answer, "see what?"...

I told them to keep their eyes peeled. And 30 seconds later is surfaced behind another surfer, and the surfer obviously heard something and turned around, and instantly started squealing like a pig, and assumed it was a shark, and was paddling to shore, but a few others of us saw it, and confirmed it was a seal! Pretty funny though...

Saw a Fairy Penguin out a Winki about 2 weeks back. Always nice to see those little things poking around, and fishing...

Heaps of bird life around too. Colourful ducks, and plenty of ocean going fishing birds of various types. Whale season is starting too.

We have a great week of surf ahead... Today, 1.5m to 3.0m swell running through. Tomorrow, it is expected to be a 2.0 to 3.0m swell and building. Wednesday is tipped to be up to 4.0m. It's going to be stiff offshore winds though, which is a bit of a dampener... Spray in the eyes...

My experience with the seal was pretty similar . You would see him pop up then dive then pop up again about 10 minutes latter . The Fairy penguins are amazing when you catch them surfing along the face of the waves . Bit deceiving though they look so sweet and innocent but have you ever got up close to one . I've got to treat a couple of sick ones . savage little f......ers .

Just received the surf alert from surf forecast your right some big stuff coming . They reckon about 2.5 meters here tomorrow it is pretty messy though with a strong northwest wind behind it ( onshore for us ) . Friday / Saturday looks nicer with a northeaster predicted . Hopefully catch a nice wave on the Penguin reef
