This Sunday is the 5th Annual Wooden Surfboard Day at the Alley. Great chance to see some amazing boards that regular punters and board makers alike have made and are showing.

Some of the boards that people show are mind blowing.

If anyone has a wooden board bring it down

Checkout the website but don't believe anything it says about the Alley - it will be garbage on Sunday morning and you'd be better off surfing first at your regular then coming for a look.....

PS - this is a not a pimp for money and is free event.

wtf. went for a surf at the alley- so so. then went to have a look at the board expo.

they are all old fashioned wooden boards guys are trying to sell to gullible image conscious beaver tail hipster surfers.

not one decent modern board to be seen.

i was almost going to ring up the accc.

ps i saw some firewire timber lam boards at coolie surf resently- fu#ck they are light. they had some really small board there too oday which are ridiculously light

Pics from the day.

Quality of work / finish was super impressive compared to anything that my keyboard hands could achieve. The hollow tooth pick boards by Barry Regan were amazing, not sure if I would want to take them out in the water.
