i surfed LM the other week with mac and asea, the crowds were nuts and some incredibly stupid crap going down BUT i did get to see some amazing longboarding going on out there. the one thing i did notice was the amount of people who just dont nose ride but actually stand there backwards and HANG HEELS has anyone noticed this? are any of you guys able to do it or practising it?

If the opportunity arises to stroll up to the tip, I'm desperate to get there, regardless of my lack of ability, hence my never ending quest to add the perfect nose rider to my quiver.

When I say perfect, I mean perfect for me, I thought the ITP was the one and it was very good, but the wave entry was too late for someone as big as me and the turning was not so good.

I've got my eye on a 10 x 24 secondhand wilde that may work for me.

That's pretty hard to do Chrispy. I'm just happy getting up and back normally without that fancy stuff. I think that's probably more suited to 60 kilo nimble young fellas eh Mac ?

I have done it on a SUP once . I'm just happy to get up the front , I've been riding my Meyerhoffer for a couple of weeks now & can't beleive how it nose rides . This morning high tide small wast high nose rides for half the wave , off the back you can through it around like a short board . Most would turn there nose up at it & I'm guilty of this too it sat on the rack in garage for long time .

Hanging heels, is about as cool as it gets in my opinion especially if they can walk back down the board towards the tail forward then change back to normal stance and do that reverse drop knee turn.. Way out of my league maybe Look at some Jai Lee vids.

As for going for the nose, someone told me just set your line and run up there reasonably quickly is the best way when learning, obviously once you get better just slow it down.

Also once heard I think Joel Tudor say that you can check your cross steep style is by making sure your toe brushes your the inside of your heel

And please don't shuffle... Keep that for the Nightclub...

There's a guy down here that used to ride a hoff and he surfed it pretty good but ditched it after finding out in came in under the aggregate measurement for comps.
Weird board.
