Has anybody purchased bulky heavy goods from the US? If so how long did it take to the goods to arrive? I've been quoted one week which sounds to good to be true.I'm looking at car parts. The company I'm dealing with have been around for ever and have an outstanding rep.
thePup said.. UPS are pretty quick especially once it heads to Singapore - just stay away from the $1000 AUD import tax it's a killer mate
How would this tax effect second hand goods? What I'm looking at is over the grand mark.I've never purchased from the US I mite contact my shipping agent.
The duty is based on the invoice value, if the invoice that comes with the goods shows less than 1K you're all good regardless of what you actually paid. Just saying.

Macaha ...If they are second hand...they may not be applicable to import duty...check that..I am no expert, but did buy some stuff overseas on a climbing trip...was well in excess of 1K, used it climbing in the US and brought it home...no import duty...I was told if I had not used it...tax would been applied.
