Today I was informed that a product I had purchased will be replaced. It was outside the no warranty period and had had a fair bit of use. The manufactures were really reasonable - they have even let me change the initial product I had purchased for something newer.

Just proves that there still are some good guys out there. High five. In all fairness I probably would have shamed them if they had not been reasonable But alas its only fair that I salute the good deeds of human nature that passed my way today. Joy.

manufacturer warranty is pretty much null and void these days with the changes to Australian Consumer Law. If a product is deemed to have a "Major Fault" (very grey area this one) and the product hasn't provided "Equitable Value" (even grayer) a manufacturer is bound by the ACCC to exchange. Some companies, those that the ACCC is closely watching will generally err on the side of caution and be quite generous, and in many cases overly generous so as to avoid litigation...

So watch out SDR when I snap my Hot Log

These days i find if you don't ask.

On Sunday my daughter managed to have a girlfriend run up $100 worth of extra data on her mobile downloading music. She had discounted it from the WiFi and a text told us we had gone well over. A call yesterday to Optus, i explained and they promptly up'd her data for the month for $10 only and so therefor wiping out the $100
That restored my faith for a day or two

If you were going to shame them....why not name them ..as a goodwill gesture...
