Everywhere and anywhere can be good on its day but my pick for some easy to get to breaks on the way down would be:

(Carefull of my spelling)

Arrawara, a long point break at a southern end, it's about 3 kliks off the highway between Corindi and Woolgoolga. You turn off at Mullaway to get to it so on the way to Arrawara you can just go down the road a bit further and check out Mullaway then Mullawarra then Arrawara.

Next one to check out is Emerald Beach, I had an outstanding wave there last July, its only about half a klik just off the highway and a few kliks south of Woolgoolga, there's a servo on the corner, you turn left there. It's the home of the world longboard champ, Harley Ingelby, so it must be a good break.

The next one I reckon is worth a look is Scotts Head, the turn off in a few kliks south of Macksville (you turn right and go back under the highway). It's a really loverly looking place and although I never went there when it was working well, you can tell it would be a good'n with a really long ride on the right day. It's about 12 kliks in from the highway and there are a few other breaks in the area that I've heard are good but I've never seen them. Like Grassy Head.

Crescent Head is legendary but on all the occasions I've been there, it was just so so and really crowded. Plus it's a long drive off the highway, about 15 kliks.

that's my pick.

Yes, a good choice but you'll need to make a firm commitment to going there depending on your schedule.

Yamba is a good 20 kliks off the highway and Angourie is a few more kliks south.

Ideal if it's an overnight stop off.

To start your trip from Brisbane, none of these are secret spots more of a must checkout list.

Southport spit,Burleigh Heads,Snapper through to Rainbow Bay ,Greenmount,Kirra.
D-bah if its small elsewhere (beware its shortboarding mica ) but you came get some.
That's the Gold Coast stretch covered.

Heading down into NSW's, Cresent Heads is a must, as the other guy's said Angourie, I've got scares to prove how good that place is

Sounds like your going to have a blast, you lucky bugger

I've surfed Sydney to the border in a short john sometimes with just a long sleve rashy underneath to take the edge off the wind, right up until July.

After that it's usually a springy until September then from September onwards I'm usually in a long sleve springy or a steamer around the Sydeny area.

Longboard or Short???

Well, this is the longboard section of the forum, so guess what I'm going to say?

Wannasurf is good but the thing I like most about it are the comments, they're a hoot.

This a comment on Arrawarra

"this place is packed with old farts on mals but if u go on a big day they shat them selves and just watch ya"

Luv it

Pity you can't stretch a little further south of Sydney.
Miles of smiles, no crowds, clean water, although the rain lately has murked things up a bit.
Kinghorn and Tilbury were been awesome last week.
