I have the McTavish 9'1" Fireball evo... which has a 9" centre fin (in a skeg box) and two much smaller side fins... I pushed the centre fin all the way forward and I took the two side fins out after my second or third surf as I was having trouble getting into the fast beach breaks I tend to surf. It does get a slide occasionally, but not too often. If this worries you, then you could always put a bigger centre fin it.
Note that I only ever surf it on 1-2ft days... I'm sure the more regular longboarders can offer a more informed opinion.
Hi GPA, whack the little side bites back in and drop a 7 inch and watch your ride change, it will allow you to turn the thing on a dime

give it a go and let us how it goes.
