I live 10 mins from the spot and surf it once a year. I dont even bother checking it any more. Actually there is'nt even any waves worth checking in the area any more. Durrs= wank city. Guess it had to happen sooner or later. even up to 5 years ago ya could get good uncrowded waves regually...... Funny how everyone thinks they own certain waves aye.....Ahhhgh, take me back to the Goldy

I know I'm showing my age (53) but I remember when the Spot was a semi secret spot. You used to get a great wave with relatively few people out . I stopped going there and a few other semi secret spots when the Triggs " kill everyone that isn't me" crew started to invade these places.

What really irritates me is when blow ins turn up and decide that they are the locals. What happens to these people when they want to travel and surf different spots. They're no longer the locals and have to put up with other "local" dickheads.

Chill out guys and enjoy yourself and enjoy the company of people who are into the same things as you are.

Surfing is fun.

I gotta tell you nothing ****s me more than ANYONE (including me on a bad day) playing the Local Card. What is a local? Eg. If I surf somewhere for 3o years, go elsewhere for a season or two and then return - am i still a local? What do I have to do, say, pretend in order for the new locals to accept me.

The whole thing is so boring.

I surfed somewhere today, somewhere I've been surfing on and odd for a long time and a contract lifeguard was out in the water throwing his weight around. What a pork chop! Obviously new to the area, he absolutely demolished all the good will that other lifesaving watermen had built up over past years. A jet ski, a quad bike and a uniform doesn't excuse bad behaviour.

As for professional demeanor, positive role modeling for grommets and working effectivley with clients - this guy had no idea. Instead he play acted some twisted Bra Boy fantasy that was so out of sync with the values we all assume are held by Australian Lifeguards
