Considering these boards in my quiver but would like some opinions from surfers who have used these boards. Looking at feedback on;

- performance
- durability
- all round use (eg; is it worth getting?)

Currently looking looking at the 5' 9" size. Both boards come in at around 33-34L with the JS being slightly wider at 20 1/2 vs phoenix at 20 1/4 and slightly thicker at 2 5/8 vs 2 1/2.

Both boards would be consider as summer grovelers however, i believe the phoenix would have a slightly more performance edge.

Anyone got any views on these 2 boards?

Check out Wooly TV for surfboard reviews on youtube. Pretty sure he's reviewed the Phoenix not sure about the JS. His reviews are very good and surfs around Perth area a bit.

I've got an epoxy Phoenix, phenomenal board in anything that isn't too hollow. Terrible in the barrel (but that could just be me). Haven't really surfed it in bigger waves but it will struggle to hold an edge when it gets a little fast and bumpy. Very forgiving board in the crumbly stuff and quick off the mark which is what you need for Perth summer. Very impressed with the durability. Like it better as a tri, but 2+1 works ok.

Would add a Pyzel astro pop into consideration as well. Found mine great for Perth and the beachies just north of here. Have been impressed with the build quality.
