G,day! I've been surfing back beach for a while now, doing day trips etc when the conditions are right. Unfortunately however i've never ventured anywhere else other than back beach because i wanted to surf before the seabreeze kicked in and thus preventing me from wasting that time looking for other spots.
My question to you guys is. What other beachies are around there? I'm not going to ask about reef breaks because that's cheating and i must find that out myself. But if there's any other big beaches that spread the crowd out nicely. I've heard bombing range is good? But **** knows where that is... pls let me know! Even in a private message. Cheers legends
Hey pauly unfortunately no one will divulge
In short the answer is
Do you have a 4x4?
Engage 4x4 and have a look
Thats all you will get and be prepared to do some kays, its normally a two or three day trip along that part of coast

You serious?
Haha wow amazing how helpful people are around here!
You serious?
Yes i am. Find your own waves. There are enough crowds as it is. Its taken me years to work out the best locations under the right conditions, as i am sure it has with most surfers. Its like serving an apprenticeship. Why give away all thay knowledge to turn up at a break to find over run with kooks.
Jesus classic surf culture. I said beach breaks specifically. When was the last time you saw a crowd at a beach break at lano
Jesus, lad, trod his own path
so muppets with gopros didn't tell all their disciples!
So, Jesus Pauly, classic surf culture - is what oz surf said. - that makes theskull a kook for even questioning him. If someone told you a place and you got there and found out there was already someone there- it'd be the skull and you'd ask another question on the net about another bit of coastline as the one somebody- who generously informed you of would be crowded. And on it goes you muppet! Jesus, ffs don't you get it?
Zuke- I think your comment is lost on the young rippers (kooks with gopros) if they can't learn it from from the net they can't tell the story to their HUGE fanbase.
If you want a team sport take up any variation or football - lingerie footy is great if you don't have a GoPro fitted to your head( they won't let in the change rooms) this years new uniforms are outrageous....ly gold, basketball, cricket- in or outdoor, volleyball- beach mixed is preferred but if your lgbtyxfm or c then whatever floats your boat, waterpolo, hockey or handball but not surfing- ever....- muppets!
rant over.
Go looking. There is a reason why Ripcurl has marketed itself around 'the search'. Even beachbreaks get crowded (Boodj is a prime example, as is another beachie further south that seems to have 50 additional 4WDs everytime the banks are good). There are good waves around the place that break in conditions that you wouldn't always expect. Pay your dues, get skunked a few times and appreciate the days you score.

When's the last time you seen a crowd at a beachy in lano?..... umm every time you go up there
Hope you can see the forest from the trees with the replies here Pauly, the tone is a result of the way surf culture is heading in the new age (the need for easy, fast access to the stoke) and the frustration about it , message from the crew is spot on.
Trust me me when I say one of the most satisfying things about surfing is the search - develop your own instinct and enjoy the whole thing. When you score good uncrowded waves you will understand were the boys here are coming from.
Beach breaks are pretty easy to drive along and see waves even when it's onshore. There are waves along that whole stretch, the swell, wind, tide and time of year all factor in.
The thongs you learn by doing this become a skill that can be used in general and is something lost with surfing today.
Get out there and enjoy yourself, if you do jag good waves with no one around and you want it that way for a while I suggest you share the stoke in a way that doesn't give it away.

I launched an attack on the facebook page "Perth Surf" a while back. The fool who runs that page loves telling everyone where the waves are.

I think there's a pattern forming here? Seems to be quite a constant theme that everyone agrees upon.

Perth Surf or Surfin Perth?
Absolute flogs, constantly posting photos, naming novelty spots, giving away wind and tide info, even posting bloody maps and GPS co-rds.
I've got a bar of tropical wax in my glovebox, just waiting for the day I can identify this bloke's windscreen!

Perth Surf.
After I had exchanged a few PM's with this guy I came to the realisation that this obvious kook was using his page as some sort of pathetic claim to fame and this was quite possibly the best thing he has ever done in his life.
Mate thats a great idea I forgot to mention that.
Join Perth Surf on Facebook and PM the guy and he will tell you everything you want to know
Your welcome
Just playing devils advocate here..
I don't think sharing local spots is the greatest idea and i support peoples opinions not to share, BUT isn't it a little bit hypocritical for those same people who get all upset over sharing of a spot, to then turn around and share locations, accommodation and recommendations to spots over seas? Including times of years to travel
I cant imagine the annoyance at sitting at a deserted reef somewhere to have a boat full of tourists turn up and ruin your fun. Those same tourists that have been referred to that spot by people online.. I might be wrong, but to me isn't it same same..
Okay so the guy asked for some help, he was happy to be privately messaged, i get if you don't want to share, but i just don't understand the heavy attacks.

Fair comment JB, but personally...and at risk of sounding hypocritical, i do think there's a difference between providing info on Lances Right or Uluwatu, to something that isn't well known locally. As an example I don't think many give up their special little spots in Indo or Peru that aren't well known... and i think if he had of asked for a great place to stay in Lano he may have received a warmer reception?

NO..
But by all the greens i guess some people think its okay to share spots, as long as they are not your local or effect you directly..
Sorry i just don't see the difference if someone living in QLD started to share beach breaks in Perth, that would be no different then sharing spots overseas. But each to their own..

Also touching on Perth surf and face book pages. If you don't like them, don't follow them. Again by following them your technically supporting them and onward sharing them. SO if you follow them, your as much part of the problem IMHO..
I may be missing something here mate, But in all the time I have been reading this forum the only breaks I have seen discussed here are those that the local economy thrives off tourism. This is not the case here and is not the same thing.
Quick there is a sick bank right out the front of Manning St - Everyone GO GO GO

It goes to the overall conversation though, the guy simply asked for some help on some beaches/spots. He said he was happy to keep them quiet or private message. He wasn't asking for anything super secret. If people don't want to share thats fine, don't but i don't think the negative posts were needed, thats all. Especially when people who got upset then share location all be them general of other places overseas. You can say its different all you like, but its not. Im sure local small business in region WA would love the extra traffic.
The forums are dead enough as it is..Simply ignoring his post would have been sufficient, or a polite reply maybe.
