I would welcome ideas on how to extend the life on this fuselage. It's probably just over a year old. It's freshwater washed after each outing, but not pulled apart, except on the occasion where I change wings. At this point, I check for alloy breakdown damage and dab on a little black paint where required. Today it got the best of me and I went in with files to gouge out its problems. Would spraying battery terminal paint on the affected areas help before painting. . Has anyone attached a shaped self-destructing anode to their fuse?
Thanks for any help that you may give me.

Weird,
I'm in fresh water. (Limestone lake). Never had any issues. It stays on my boat dock assembled. I took the lower assembly off once to fill some chips in the wing, but never saw any evidence of corrosion.

If you are in salt water and have worn or filed thru the anodizing, you should repaint. I use a clear coat in the area where the stabilizer mounts because the stainless shim I was using wore thru the anodization. I Let it cure for a full week and then slathered it with tefgel and have not had corrosion problems. I have since switched to the plastic shims from slingshot, which I hope will prevent damage to the anodization.

Did you buy it new? If so take it back to the shop. Every country is different regarding consumer rights, but something like a fuselage should last more than 1 year.

Thanks people and great replies to my problem. I have been slack in the wash down department and so I will take on board your suggestions. and do them. I took the fuselage to the marine shop after the filing, and they suggested etch primer and paint and I bought their product. The photo I intend to include is about 40% in need of repair. Thanks again.

The very first batch was prone to corrosion but that was like 2 years ago.
