jees 1000 bucks for platform. wtf! yea its got to paddle onto waves but we have had short boards that can do that for decades!?!? could someone please explain? Or better yet agree with me :-)
Why pay double that for a new windsurf board when so many decent used ones are available? Same reasoning.
I have a foil board and, to me, it was worth it. I pissed away nine months with an older board. Straps and mast track were in the wrong place. I'd struggle to get it to pop out of the water and then struggle to balance everything out with lots of back leg pressure. It was flat in front and would spank hard every time I touched down. The fin box never ripped out but thank heavens I wasn't on that board when I hit bottom - a friend did on his older Formula board and killed it. It's 130 liters but all the volume is in the back so getting it going is so much easier even as a conventional board.
Would it be worth it to you? Who knows. For me, I wished I'd bought it sooner.
