Thanks mkseven, would the easier ride advantage out way the earlier planing advantage?

Are you talking about a big difference in ride?

it comes down to personal preference. To me the jp felt big, a harder more powerful ride. The naish felt like a 76 wide board, some of the grand prix can be a bit fin sensitive but the 128 wasnt too bad. If you're a bigger guy id go jp, otherwise the naish. I know the jp is supposed to be the light persons one in the range but the naish is a very very fast freeride vs a racing board. The naish isn't compromised, it can & has run at the top of any national level slalom fleet. It's been a while since i sailed either, i really hate the deck bumps on the jp.

+1

JP a tad faster but really tough on the back leg, and same feeling about the bumps

Had the naish SP, such a comfy board, I expect the Grand prix to be the same.
Only downside was the extra thick pads, hard to get your foot out of the straps quickly.
