Hey guys and gals..
I am an intermediate windsurfing looking for a place to master the sport on a 4 week holiday. So I am wondering if anyone can recommend the best place in Australia and/or the world to take a holiday for 4 weeks during our Winter, where the wind never stops and it is warm...
Would particularly like to goto Thailand but can't find any info on best windsurfing season there....

The info that I have read suggests that you could look at Greece, Turkey, Brazil, Egypt... There are a few.

Have a look at planetwindsurf.com and see what venues have the most wind for that time of year. Boards magazine mention their best options for certain times of the year, but I can't recall what they are for June/July.

What month exactly are you looking at?

Dominican Republic Caribbean

Been to both about 17 years ago so can recommend them

Dominican Republic was by far the best great conditions, people the hire gear was the latest and rigged ready to go on the beach plus the beauty of the caribbean which was stunning.

One great plus was the shape of the bay meant the wind didnt blow onto the beach so you could hang out all day without getting sandblasted great for the non windsurfer

hope this helps the winter blues

How does it rock? Was it windy? How windy?

Seriously though, what are the conditions like in Maui? What sort of wind strength did you see when you were there, and were there any days that weren't planing conditions? Was there any chop?

Troops, Red from melbourne reckons this place is pretty good, good gear for hire next to resort. Havnt been, but considering it.
www.windsurf-vietnam.com. Take a look on web page. good price and supposedly pretty safe spot.

Mate, sailed everyday bar one. The one day I didn't sail was voluntary (actually got a bit sick of windsurfing everyday). First week I was there wind was totally nukin!!! Biggest sail I used in the first week was a 5.4 and the smallest was a 3.7. Second week, the wind was a bit lighter so was on biggest sail of 5.8 and on a 92L board!!!

Water is tropical blue and warm, the sun is out and the breeze is warm. Sailed at Kanaha and Sprecks. Sprecks gets better reef break (small for that time of year though) but enough for jumps and stuff. People are all pretty cool and there is a good vibe on the beach. Only downside is that it is pretty expensive.

Cheers guys,

I like the sound of Vietnam... Winter blues are slowly going away after this w/e though. Just hope I can get back on the board after a few months off and remember how to the one carve gybe I ever managed on my last sail!!

Just came back from fiji. 2.5 weeks of great fun every day 20 to 30 knots. There is a little island called nananu-i-ra. there are 5 resorts on the island and not much more. go to the east side and enjoy the nice trade wind. we stayed at the safary lodge.
Thailand is not known for strong winds. was waiting there for 2 month and not only one day of wind. was just floating around once. Maybe wrong season. ....
