Hey Bogey,

Boggy Lake looks the goods in South Australia! North to north westerleys 20 - 30 knots are good for flat water and speed at boggy. Good for the 4 state 1 hour challenge.

cheers,

Carl

Ta Carl
What do you reckon about the chances tomorrow - keeping the seabreeze chart in mind?
Also It looks like the only metropolitan beach to happen might be around Largs - any thoughts on this
If I sound a bit desperate its all those green arrows!

No can do Carl, body damage is my thing at the moment, tried to gybe in 3 inches of water at goolwa on Saturday, I dont recommend it. New boom this week though.... :)

Hey Divaldo, I was wondering how shallow it is now down there!!! I'll try and send down some more water from up here!!! Only trouble is there is none here either. How deep is Boggy??? Still no baby.

Well I sailed from the yatch club to the barages, had my stack just 100 mtrs short of the barages, on the second inlet on hindmarsh island, snapped boom, sailed it back though (I am a legend I know) but I probably could have walked back on the same tack as I sailed out on! So pretty farken shallow! 18 inches in some places.

Kym sailed all day with her 266 Flow, 27 inch fin, no real issues except when slow gybing,

So its still sailable, but with high winds and lack of water flow in murray makes it a bit tricky

Hey Guys,

You should start sailing in the ocean. When Mike Rann puts the lock in up river it will really affect Boggy and Goolwa.

The mid coast is really good on a northerly wind. It is even better when there is swell.

Thanks Carl ( and others)
Had a look at Boggy today and its an impressive speed tryout spot.

Had some great runs - was very gusty but a local guy (Chris) showed 38.9 knots peak on GPS( I'm happy to say even though I couldn't match that I wasn't too far behind)
I'll definitely give it another go just for something different

Yeah....... derrr
I'll sail almost ANYWHERE if there is WIND. I'm not that fussy, as long as I dont have to do the sailboard boogie. Sometimes theres no wind on the OCEAN but good wind on the lake - and boggy is often at least 5 knots stronger than goolwa. Hmmmm ....Salt water, yum, I can hardly remember the taste. just mud where I am

We are now the same Susie, IMO sailing in the ocean requires a certain skill level, which we are now both at, ie very profficient at water starts and can turn around most of the time, Sailing in the sea gives you more bouyancy, although you have to wash ur gear :(
Footnote: The weir will never happen! Too bloody expensive

Next time there's an epic forcast make sure you guys put it up on this forum - I'm keen to do a few trips across... Couple of weeks ago I had a fun light wind sail at U-turns and then all-time 3rd ramp Robe with NO-ONE out. Then another sail somewhere further south that I can't quite remember where it was... Hazy memories of half to 3/4 mast point break wound on a 4.7, again with NO-ONE out.
So next time it's windy back there I want in.

Do you reckon Goolwa will be sailable over the next couple weeks. I'm there for a week, two weeks after easter. Can't wait, but last time i sailed in about 30cm deep water around at the barrage, every time i stacked it realy hurt. Sounds like the smaller range of fins will be the go. No longer than 35cm? (there goes dads 50)

Bubs, problem with Goolwa at the moment is that when the wind is up it blows all the water up the river, well thats how it seems, Today would be good down Goolwa, Middleton, Bullies way, mini cyclone in the bight 8-10 foot swell hitting bullies as we speak

check here

http://www.coastalwatch.com/camera/cameras_large.aspx?cam=6500&mode=windows&state=SAWATAS

We will be around after easter, see you then

If you sail high, up near yatch club you should be ok, also on a SW tack heading straight into the marina thats not to bad....

Well at least there is no wind in Maui today!
