Does anyone know what is required to get an adjustable head on a 06' np combat. i just got the sail and my 430 mast is a tad too big, it would be much cheaper 4 me to get an adjustable head than a new mast.
has anyone had any experience with replacing it, or what sail repairers charge?
cheers

Yeah....interesting how the sail makers don't seem to make 'turban heads' ie adjustable any more.

Conspiracy theory coming up

Soooooo...
are they in cahoots with mast makers (or one & same), so you have to get different mast for each sail luff size??
I have 2 sails with turban heads - so 1 mast fits 3 sails

How much is the difference?

I would not use any mast more than about 15cm too long as then you will have sail set problems.

If you want to have the std webbing cut out and an adjustable head fitted, I'd guess at maybe $50? Pretty easy job.

there should have been a fix length strap with the sail. Despite what the NP web site says this has been included in my NP sails for the few years.

If there wasn't one in your sail when you bought it try a local shop that stocks NP.

I probably would stay clear of getting a sail maker to change the structure of the sail.

Why? all he will do is unpick a 2" long strap and replace it with a 12" strap and buckle that allows you to change the luff length.

I agree with Mark, take it to a local sail maker, you have nothing to loose from asking.
