IMO I think the Evo/Fish thruster boards, with 3 equal fins or with one large and two small fins are sweet. Not all of us live in Hawaii so these type of boards are perfect. It seems like all the windsurf companies are bringing out an evolutionary design which I think is great.

What do other people think of these types of boards? Or do the majority of windsurfers prefer Acid style traditional shapes? I'm refering to onshore SW slop in Perth with the odd trip outta town to more DTL waves

I guess the question is which style of board would you get the most use/fun out of (assuming you only have 1 waveboard)

A traditional'DTL'waveboard OR A wide/onshore waveboard

To avoid comparing different makes, perhaps you could ask which would be a better single waveboard quiver for a WA windsurfer? an Acid or an Evo?

Personally I don't go out 'wave sailing' much around Perth beaches, I spend most of my sailing time bump and jumping. When I do wavesail it tends to be at out of town spots where the waves are easier and more fun to sail.
I have always used a 'traditional' style waveboard as I favour control, speed and release for jumping over early planing. But maybe I'm wrong and should have been using an Evo all along.

I did try one once and it was Ok, is there anyone out there that uses both and can give a definitive answer which suits WA sailing better?

But seals eat fish!

Delta Designs and Kinetic Sailboards have the "Euphoria" thruster (which seems to be the same board).

All the team riders give rave reviews (but don't they always?)

The noticable thing about the AHD seal is how short it is at just over 2m, but don't you get extra drag from the side fins?

RRD went experimental with the 2005 Waveswallow which had a removable wakeboard-style fin on each side. It obviously wasn't a hit because you don't see them on the new Wavecult that replaced the Waveswallow.

I'm currently in the market to upgrade my board and I'm going for an onshore board (in Perth). Leaning towards the RRD Wavecult with Evo my 2nd option.
