Unreal. The kind of day that I lay awake and dream about. 30+ knots of wind, lots of swell. Not many folks out - around 6 at most at any one time.

Lobbed down to Crazies (didn't get ripped off in the car park) and had a great time, often totally overpower on a fully downhauled 4.7. Plenty of ramps, plenty of practise getting slammed by gusts during gybes, plenty of stacks, plenty of laughs & smiles!

It was so windy at times - easy 30-35 knots - that the spray was being blown horizontally. Awesome. Amped. Stoked.

Anyone else get out / where'd you go?

p.s. Thanks to Reg from WSP for lending me some kit so that I could get out!

Hi,

I also sailed crazy's and launched from South Beach. Risk of theft seemed low, with lots of people around, it has good grass, and the run down takes the best part of 30 seconds. Cheers for the recommendation. The launch was probs a bit easier than crazy's aswell, since the beach there has taken a real beating!!!

Good wind, huge swell. Cant wait to the next front.

Simon.

Hi Alberto - No no no! It wasn't me on the pryde! I remember seeing you - I'd just launched and was totally out of tune of foreign kit .. you know when you are so keen to get out, you forget to make sure you can get you feet in the foot straps, the harness lines are in the wrong spot and the boom is 6 inches too high? Then because you got so trashed in the shorebreak trying to get out, you try and tune it in the water so you don't have to go in again?! ...well that's my excuse for looking like a kook!

(After numerous attempts at tuning on the water, I had to bite the bullet and fix it on the beach, and enjoy another trashing in the shorebreak! All good fun!! .. cleans the sinuses out real good)
