Can anyone comment on what Applecross (Lucky Bay?) is like on the south west or south winds? Normally i would go to Pelican point but applecross is much closer (yes i am hoping for a good run on the recent forecast).

Thanks

Eastie, not as 'bumpy' as Peli point. No boats hammering up and down making wake waves.
Plenty of sand bars to pull up on for a spell, flat water, good lawn and fresh water wash down for setting up, and cleaning up at Melville water entrance.
Havnt tried up near South of Perth Yacht club.
Breeze can be a bit up and down, lots of room for parking.

Yeha but those are negatives too. On a SW it is too flat, southerly too gusty as it's offshore a bit. Nothing to jump off. The aforementioned sandbars can be big nasty fin killers if you are on race / slalom etc gear.
Besides Peli Pt has uni student girls paking there sometimes :)
