If you had to design a year long wind pilgrimage through Australia that is designed to get you most time on the water, what would it look like? Lets Assume ~5.5ish sail size or smaller on conventional windsurfing equipment (not foils). I would assume that Nov-Feb would have central WA (Lancelin to Corronation Beach?) as optimal? Cocos Islands appear to fit the winter months? Happy to be corrected.

Jan - Central WA
Feb - Central WA
Mar - ?
Apr - ?
May - ?
Jun - Cocos Islands ?
Jul - ?
Aug - ?
Sep - ?
Oct - ?
Nov - Central WA
Dec - Central WA

Thoughts?

If you're looking for waves then central WA around Corros is best Nov to Feb yeh (I went to Corros in Oct for nearly 15 years in a row and sailed most days) so its more like Oct to Feb/March. However, if its flat water you want then you need to go to further north to the 26th parallel around Shark Bay, its windier and for more months than Lano to Gero. Regular winds from October to March/April. The seabreeze winds can start as early as September and run right through to end of April. But Shark bay is very isolated compared to Lano to gero. But you get 6/7 months of steady and strong seabreezes. The question is who'd be up to sailing nearly everyday for 7 months??

My 12 month dream windsurfing trip would be as follows. WA Shark Bay Sept and Oct /Corros in October/November Mandurah December to end of January. Drive to Albany early February, then onto South Australia (Lake George) for the rest of Feb & all of March. Visit family in April. Then May to Aug = in Far North Qld.
