Hello,
I'm looking for a beginner board and found a used BIC Beach 2016 with 175 liters volume for sale for 550 Euros. It doesn't seem to have any significant damage and I can probably get it for 500 Euros. I weigh 80kgs and really do need a stable board to learn, but I'm a bit worried that the "family friendly" BIC Beach might get boring quickly. Would I be able to resell it easily at that price? Would you take the board?

definitely beginner and user friendly and seems heavy @ 36 pounds
what i don't understand is the sail size rating i find on the web ...
2.5-6.5 ??
for a 175 liter board with almost 80 cm width and a dagger board - would expect it handle sails up to 8.5
and get you back home with the dagger ...
so, for me - sounds "too beginner" and tire of it quickly
good for school ??

It's often easy to sell beginner boards, especially late summer and early fall, and they tend to keep their prices relatively well. However, that may depend a lot on the area you're at, so you'd have to check with local windsurfers.
The price of 550 Euros does seem a bit steep - I can find new ones in the US for $700, and bicshop.de has new ones listed for ?799.00 (plus shipping). The boards are pretty robust, so I would not expect to see damage. It would need to be in almost new state to justify the price.

Thanks for the replies! I took it for 500 now - even though the price might be a bit high, since it turned out to be not exactly in mint condition (it was used in a school so it has a few bumps and dents, but nothing serious). I had been looking for beginner boards for a while now and haven't had any luck and I'm running out of vacation days, so I think this was the right decision. I hope to make some good progress with it now and maybe I can resell it next year at a similar price.
