(1) He's a fv(king idiot and should not have posted all about a secret spot at all, much less in a deliberate attempt to stir the locals.

(2) OTOH, "localism" and secret spots has a downside as I've heard many ppl say about Oakajee. There may be a port built there, now WE have to convince the self appointed Queen of the Universe McTiernan (bad case of the emperor's new clothes that up herself cow has got) and the companies etc to NOT put it there. If it was never secret and it got as many sailors as Corro's they may not have even tried it (everybody would have seen 200 sailors there every day).

Now sorry to hijack the post but I very rarely go to the kite forum, only if somebody posts a link like above.
I notice they do nothing but bicker and have a crack at each other. I mean we have rigorous discussions here, but you don't get ppl who have made 200 - 2000 posts calling each other names and really having a go. Seems normal over there. Anyone frequent both sides... am I on the wrong track?

Mark I noticed the same thing re the kiters' forum...seems to be non-stop baiting, bagging and one-upping going on!

Things are much more civil over here with the windsurfing crew. Maybe that has something to do with the age / maturity level of the windsurfing community

I've noticed in the GPS Challenge that sailors in the master category (35-44), myself included, seem to be in the majority. I've actually toyed with the idea of having a crack at kiting (would seem a good option for the lighter days), but been put off by the all the ego-tripping bullshXt I've observed by those on the 'dark side'.

Its hardly a secret spot.....?

I frequent every forum,

There is a lot of silly business that goes on in the kite forum, some quite amusing. There is also a lot more blatant pimping and hard selling which is a pain in the ass.

My take on it is that people take themselves too seriously and there are a lot of serious people on the kite side with large ego's and an inability to say ok i was wrong or even just laugh at themselves.

The windsurfers are indeed more of a mellow crew and more up for banter than the kiter's. More accepting of others opinions too

But the 'General" section at the very top is where its at. All in the same spot sharing a laugh. Never ever seen any sh1t posts there.

Hijack number two: Allah Allah Jihad Mohammed is great kill US president (just to get the Yank's computers at Pine Gap and C.Valley ticking over again ).

Talking about the GPS challenge, if so many ppl are >35kn then maybe you should have a longboard challenge. No boards over 60cm wide and must be at least 290cm long. See how many Kona's and the convertible SUP's we get in the 30's. Now that would be some good suicidal stuff.

Its true , windsurfers a generally good friendly bunch. (unlike some other water sports) Allways happy to welcome new comers to the fraternity with advice and tips, lending , if not giving away gear to those in need. Even the expert backflipping dudes are happy to chat with the learners. this forum is a prime example of the easy going attitude of most windsurfers.

For starters you need a 4wd to get to that spot.
I tried to get there in my "Canyonaro" and nearly got bogged. So I don't think its going to get crowded any time soon.

Secret spots will always get found out in the end..

It's not a secret spot by any means. But if alot of people dont go there why spread the word.
The guy who posted that also seems to take up more room than most while he's out sailing.
